Living for the art of lighting
Chen Yingye, male, born in September 1931 in Shunde, Guangdong, is a member of the Communist Party of China and a professional stage lighting technician at the Guangdong Puppet Troupe. Member of China Performing Arts Equipment Technology Association, Guangdong Dramatists Association, and Guangzhou Stage Art Association. In 2011, he was appointed as the first consultant of Guangdong Provincial Stage Art Research Association. In the late 1950s, he was transferred to a puppet troupe and has been engaged in stage lighting art. He has worked as a lighting designer for plays such as "Luhua Bay", "Sunflower", "Mandarin Duck Jewel", "Sun Wukong's Three Tunes Banana Fan", "Sun Wukong's Three Great White Bone Demons", "Red Boy", "Puppet Adventures", and so on. After the 1960s, he continuously adhered to the reform of stage lighting, whether it was costume dramas, modern dramas, or children's puppetry dramas. Every time a new play was rehearsed, there were new breakthroughs, and the directors and screenwriters were satisfied. In the 1970s, in order to timely demand, the theater troupe launched a comprehensive reform trend, using light clothing to facilitate going up and down to the countryside, factories, and troops, and better serving workers and farmers. At that time, Chen Yingye, who also served as the captain of the staff head performance team, dared to bear heavy burdens and was brave enough to reform and lift heavy iron frames. He dared to transform the entire set of lighting equipment he had worked hard for many years into small lighting fixtures, and transform large slides into small slides, but the conditions at that time were poor, Without processing equipment and similar products for reference and learning, it is difficult to imagine persistently trying again and again after failure, persisting in continuous technical improvement with a large workload and high technical requirements. It is Chen Yingye, who lives for the art of lighting, who uses his hard work and ingenuity, scissors and hammers to knock each lamp together. Then, the small slide was required to depict the dance beauty effects of far, medium, and near, which was extremely difficult. However, he overcame the difficulties and worked closely with the art master Liao Bingxiong day and night. After repeated experiments, the small slide finally achieved a fairyland like stage effect, which can save electricity, be simple and lightweight, and be convenient for going up and down the countryside, and provide theater services. He then successfully completed the production tasks of dramas such as "Sun Wukong's Three Battles on White Bone Demons" and "Sunflower".
In November 1975, he went to Beijing to participate in the national puppet show rehearsal and was highly praised by experts and the general audience. In particular, the renovation of stage lighting for small slides has caused a sensation among peers in various provinces and cities across the country, and various performance groups have come to learn from experience. Over the years, the troupe's performances have won numerous awards in the province, city, and country, all of which are inseparable from his contributions and hard work. Taking advantage of the trend of reform and opening up, although Chen Yingye retired, he still excelled in his field. In order to expand the achievements of lighting reform, he personally founded Guangzhou Nanyi Electronic Lighting Factory, producing various and countless large, medium, and small lighting fixtures, some of which have won provincial and national awards. Under his leadership, the company continues to develop, and its products have already been exported to both domestic and foreign markets, deeply welcomed by artistic performance groups and foreign merchants. He is over eighty years old and is still working tirelessly, living with all his heart and soul for the light... It is truly commendable, living a wonderful life.
